Centering a rubbing disc-brake caliper so the pads clear the rotor (front and rear).
Steps
- Loosen the top and bottom caliper mounting bolts.
- Squeeze and hold the brake lever so both pads press in and self-center the caliper on the rotor, then retighten the bolts while holding the lever.
- Release the lever and spin the wheel to test for rubbing.
- If it still rubs, loosen slightly and make small adjustments one side at a time — placing a light under the rotor makes the pad-to-disc spacing easy to see.
- Repeat for the front and rear brakes.
